Dragon Shelter What the studio has actually posted
A dated list from the Curve partnership through the September 2026 dragon art notes — no invented patch numbers.
This page is a chronology of public Dragon Shelter posts from Wild Forest Studio and Curve Games. It is not a rumor mill. If a date, platform, or language list disagrees with Steam, Steam wins. The full game still launches September 24, 2026 on Windows. The demo remains the playable slice. For storefront facts use the release date article. For what you can install tonight use the demo notes. For how to play, leave this hub and open guides.
March 12, 2026 — Curve Games partnership
Wild Forest Studio announced it had partnered with Curve Games to publish Dragon Shelter. The post said the game was planned for 2026 and asked players to wishlist. Curve’s own signing note (early March) described a hand-painted fantasy life sim: restore an abandoned farm, befriend dragons with unique powers, cook, and rebuild a town. That partnership is why the Steam page now lists Curve Games as publisher and Wild Forest Studio as developer.
June 5–6, 2026 — Demo refresh and the September 24 date
On June 5 the studio put a rebuilt public demo in front of players as part of Wholesome Direct week. The route is the one this wiki maps: arrive at the farm, meet the town, plant, set up the kitchen, befriend the water dragon, fill orders, earn a little trust, recover a first memory, and tease the fire dragon. The slice is about two to four hours. Character customisation, a refreshed UI, gamepad support, and save/load are in that build.
On June 6, during Wholesome Direct, Curve Games and Wild Forest Studio locked the Steam day: September 24, 2026. Game director Oleg Babenkov’s quote is the one every outlet repeated: a world where dragons and magic can thrive. Curve VP of publishing Rich Keen called it a heartfelt cozy mix of creatures, cooking, and gardening. A new trailer went with the date — the one embedded on this wiki’s home page, not on this article.
After the demo, the studio’s own Chapter 07 dev log said 220 survey responses came back about 95 percent positive, average impression 8.0 out of 10. Players praised dragons first, then art, music, gathering, cooking, and the hopeful town. They also asked, in order, for kitchen dragon behavior that does not stall, a flute that always answers, a kitchen you can rearrange, cooking with the dragon that feels meaningful, more to do after the opening hours, clearer economy and energy tooltips, and accessibility (fonts, readability, controller).
July 1, 2026 — How the art is made
A Steam news post walked through the studio’s illustration process: every piece of Dragon Shelter art goes through a long polish path before the final painting. That is useful if you are trying to read the visual language — Slavic- and Carpathian-tinged watercolour farms, not a neon UI. It is not a gameplay patch.
July 29, 2026 — Cooking and Crafting Trailer
Curve and Wild Forest posted a Cooking and Crafting Trailer. Babenkov talks through how dragon companions — helpful, sometimes overzealous — amplify kitchen work and town restoration. Cooking is plan the kitchen, organise resources, harvest, discover recipes, experiment. Crafting is restore homes and shops, cultivate gardens, upgrade tools, unlock stations, decorate, and make rest spots for dragons. The trailer lives on the crafting page as the embed. Do not confuse it with a second-player kitchen. Steam still lists single-player only.
August 24, 2026 — How we made the water dragon
A Steam news post walked from first sketch to the teal companion that waters garden beds. The water dragon is the first dragon you meet and the first the team built. That matches the demo: murky pond, scared creature, water flowers on glowing shore patches, then a partner that waters crops and can wear a chef hat. Deep play notes stay on the water dragon page. This news post is the art-and-rigging story, not a hidden third starter.
September 7, 2026 — How we made the fire dragon
The follow-up post, a week before this wiki’s last big content pass, pointed back at the water-dragon article and then covered the red dragon: fiery beds, flame peppers, kitchen heat, forest work. The demo still treats the fire dragon as a late tease, not a day-one recruit. Read fire dragon for the play loop and farming for the lava-like soil. Do not skip the pond because a news post showed a prettier red model.
How to read this list until launch
Nothing here changes the Steam day. Nothing here adds a console SKU. Nothing here lists a price. The system requirements page still quotes the full-game Steam table: 16 GB RAM even on Low. The seasons page still says the demo prints Spring. If a later post names a festival, a third dragon, or a patch, it will be added here with a date. Until then, wishlist on Steam from the official links hub, play the demo with the farm checklist, and treat every “later” sentence as a label, not a button you missed.
